Veo 3, Kling or Sora: which realistic
AI video generator should you choose?

Versions, pricing, clip length, sound and availability, checked in September 2026.

You want a realistic video to present your product, illustrate an ad or feed your social accounts, without a shoot or an editor. The problem: generators keep multiplying, versions change every three months and every online demo looks more impressive than the last. Should you choose Veo 3 or Kling? And what happened to Sora? This comparison takes stock at the time of writing (September 2026): current versions, prices, clip length, sound, availability in Europe, and above all which tool to choose for what you want to produce.

Veo 3 vs Kling: the short answer

If you only have thirty seconds, here is our recommendation:

  • Veo 3.1 (Google) for the most advanced realism, with sound, dialogue and sound effects generated together with the image. It is the choice for product videos and short "cinematic" shots.
  • Kling 3.0 (Kuaishou) for longer clips (up to 15 seconds), multi-shot sequences in a single generation and good value for money, with a free version to test.
  • Seedance (ByteDance) for long clips driven by references, through Dreamina or CapCut.
  • Sora 2 (OpenAI) is no longer an option: the app and website were shut down on April 26, 2026.

If you are looking for the full method to produce a professional video, from script to editing, our guide to creating professional AI videos covers it step by step. Here, we focus on choosing the tool.

Veo 3: pricing, free access and how to use it in Europe

Veo is Google DeepMind's video model. The current version, Veo 3.1, comes in three tiers: Lite (the most affordable), Fast (the best compromise) and Quality (maximum rendering). Its main strength remains native sound: a café scene also produces the clink of cups and background conversations, and a character can say a line you wrote.

How to use Veo 3

An important point: in the Gemini app, video generation now runs on Gemini Omni Flash, which replaced Veo in the app (clips up to 10 seconds, with sound). To use Veo 3.1 itself, you have three options:

  1. Flow, Google's filmmaking tool, included in Google AI subscriptions. It is the simplest option for an entrepreneur: you describe your shots, chain them together and extend a scene.
  2. The Gemini API or Vertex AI, if you (or your provider) build video generation into your own tools.
  3. Third-party platforms that give access to several models in one place, with their own pricing.

Veo 3 pricing

At the time of writing (September 2026), Google AI subscriptions include Flow credits: 200 credits per month with Google AI Plus, 1,000 with Google AI Pro (about €21.99 per month in France) and 10,000 or 25,000 with Google AI Ultra (from about €99.99 per month). As a rough guide, a Veo 3.1 Fast clip costs around 20 credits and a Quality clip around 100 credits. On the API side, Google lists about $0.05 per second for Veo 3.1 Lite at 720p, $0.10 for Fast and $0.40 for the standard version. An 8-second clip therefore costs between about $0.40 and $3.20 depending on the tier, excluding 4K.

Is Veo 3 free?

Not on a lasting basis. Video generation in the Gemini app requires a Google AI subscription, and the Veo API has no free tier. Depending on the period, Google offers limited access or free trials on its subscriptions: that is the best way to test Veo at no cost. Be wary of websites promising "free, unlimited Veo 3": they are not official services.

Kling AI: pricing and free version

Kling, developed by the Chinese group Kuaishou, is one of the most widely used generators in the world. Kling 3.0, released in February 2026 and complemented in June by a Turbo variant, brought three useful new features: clips from 3 to 15 seconds, a multi-shot mode (up to 6 shots in a single 15-second clip, with scene continuity) and native sound in several languages.

Is Kling AI free?

Kling offers a free plan with daily credits, which refill every day and do not roll over. That is enough to test a few short clips and compare with other tools. Advanced features, the best quality and comfortable commercial use require a subscription.

Kling AI pricing

At the time of writing (September 2026), paid plans start at around $10 per month for Standard, then go up with the Pro, Premier and Ultra plans (the latter above $150 per month), with regular discounts on the first month. The real cost depends on the credits used: a 1080p clip with sound costs noticeably more than a 720p clip without sound. Check the current price in your Kling account before choosing.

Veo 3 vs Sora 2, Veo 3 vs Seedance

Veo 3 vs Sora 2: what happened?

Sora 2 was long Veo 3's main rival. But OpenAI shut down the Sora app and website on April 26, 2026, and announced the end of the Sora API on September 24, 2026. Sora is therefore no longer an option, anywhere. If you still read "Veo 3 vs Sora 2" comparisons, they are outdated. For image creation, however, OpenAI remains very present with ChatGPT Images, which we compare in our Nano Banana tutorial.

Veo 3 vs Seedance

Seedance, the video model from ByteDance (parent company of TikTok and CapCut), has become a serious competitor. Seedance 2.0 is available in Europe through Dreamina, and Seedance 2.5, announced at the end of July 2026, allows clips up to 30 seconds and up to 50 references (images, videos, audio, text) to steer a single clip. It is reserved for subscribers over 16.

In practice: Veo 3.1 remains the benchmark for realism in short shots and sound quality; Seedance is worth considering if you want longer clips closely guided by your own references, and if you already edit your videos in CapCut.

What is the best realistic AI video generator for your use?

There is no "best" generator in absolute terms. Here is our choice for the most common needs of entrepreneurs:

  • A product video or mood shot (8 seconds, premium rendering): Veo 3.1, ideally starting from a photo of your product to keep its exact shape.
  • A short sequence with several shots (presenting a place or a service): Kling 3.0 and its multi-shot mode.
  • A long clip guided by your own visuals: Seedance 2.5.
  • A quick video from a conversation, without leaving your assistant: Gemini Omni Flash in the Gemini app.
  • Ad videos in several formats: combine an image generator and a video generator, as we show in our article on creating an ad with AI.

The right method: test the same request on two tools

Rather than trusting demos, test the same shot on two generators. Here is a sample request to adapt:

"Close-up, camera slowly pushing in: a craftswoman places a handmade ceramic cup on a wooden table, in a workshop bathed in morning light. Sound: the light knock of the cup and birdsong in the distance. Cinematic look, shallow depth of field, 8 seconds, 9:16 format."

For a real product, start from an image instead: first generate an accurate visual with an image generator, then ask the video generator to animate it ("image to video"). This keeps you in control of how your product looks. Then compare three criteria: accuracy, natural movement and sound quality. This method often saves you several hours of trial and error on the subscription you choose.

The limits of AI video in 2026

Short clips. Even at 15 or 30 seconds, a clip is still one shot or a short sequence. A 60-second video requires assembling and editing several clips.

Costs that rise quickly. Every attempt uses credits, and a successful shot often takes several. Start at lower quality, then generate the final version at maximum quality.

Details that are still imperfect. Hands, on-screen text, logos and complex movements can show flaws. Review each clip frame by frame before publishing.

Transparency. Google videos include an invisible watermark (SynthID), and several platforms detect and flag AI-generated content. For a realistic person who does not exist or a scene that never happened, be transparent with your audience. Our guidance on GDPR and AI covers this point further.
