Creating a presentation
or an infographic with AI

The best tools and a method for business proposals that win deals.

A business proposal is often won on form as much as on substance. Yet most entrepreneurs still send a document put together in a hurry, on a blank template, after an evening spent aligning text boxes. AI now makes it possible to produce a clear presentation in your brand colors, and infographics that make your offer readable at a glance. But which tool should you choose? This guide compares the best AI for PowerPoint presentations by use case, explains what free versions allow and gives you a method, with requests to copy, for proposals and presentations that win deals.

Why your sales presentations deserve better than a blank template

A prospect who receives your proposal skims it, sometimes forwards it to a partner, then compares it with other offers. Three things make the difference: a structure that answers their questions in the order they ask them, visuals that make your method concrete, and a polished presentation that inspires confidence.

This is exactly where AI saves time. A proposal that took three or four hours of writing and layout often drops to one hour, review included. And an infographic that would have required a designer can be produced in a few minutes. What matters most is still your expertise: AI handles the form, you bring the substance.

Best AI for PowerPoint presentations: the tools in September 2026

There is no single ideal tool for everyone. The right choice mainly depends on where you already work. Here are the main options at the time of writing (September 2026):

ToolBest forFree versionMain strength
Claude for PowerPointWorking in PowerPoint, with your templateNo, from Claude's Pro planRespects your slide master, creates editable charts
Copilot in PowerPointMicrosoft 365 usersDepends on your Microsoft 365 planBuilt natively into Office

Claude for PowerPoint

Claude installs as an add-in in PowerPoint (web, Windows and Mac) and works with the Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans. Its decisive advantage for a business proposal: it reads your slide master, fonts and colors, and creates slides that match your template. It also turns a bullet list into a diagram or a native PowerPoint chart that you can edit. To go further with this assistant, read our article on using Claude every day.

Gamma

Gamma generates a full presentation from a simple request or a document. At the time of writing (September 2026), the free version provides a one-time stock of AI credits and shows Gamma branding; the Plus plan costs about $12 per month and the Pro plan about $25 per month (less when billed annually). Check current prices on Gamma's website. PowerPoint export is available, but plan for some touch-ups after conversion.

Canva, Copilot and Gemini

If you already use Canva, its AI features create a presentation from a request and apply your brand kit. If you work in Microsoft 365, Copilot is already available in PowerPoint depending on your plan. On Google Workspace, Gemini generates slides and visuals in Google Slides, and Google is gradually rolling out Pics, a visual creation and editing tool built into Slides.

Free AI presentation maker: what free versions allow

You can create a presentation with AI for free, as long as you accept a few limits:

  • Free Gamma: a stock of credits that does not refill, and Gamma branding on shared or exported presentations. Enough to test the tool on one or two presentations.
  • Free Canva: templates and limited AI features, ideal for an occasional presentation.
  • A free assistant plus your usual software: ask Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini to write the outline and content of each slide, then paste it into PowerPoint or Google Slides. This is the most reliable "free AI PPT" method, because you keep your own template.

For regular professional use, a subscription quickly pays off: a single proposal signed thanks to a clearer document easily covers several months of cost.

The method: a business proposal that wins deals, in 6 steps

Here is the method we use, whatever tool you choose:

  1. Gather the material: your meeting notes, the client's need in their own words, your pricing, two or three comparable references.
  2. Have the structure built before any layout work.
  3. Write slide by slide, one idea per slide.
  4. Add an infographic for your method or timeline.
  5. Apply your brand guidelines: template, colors, fonts, logo.
  6. Review as the client would: ask the AI to play the prospect and list their objections.

For step 2, here is a request to copy:

"Here are my meeting notes with [client]: [notes]. Suggest the structure of an 8 to 10 slide business proposal: their situation, their goal, our understanding of the need, the proposed solution, the step-by-step method, the timeline, the investment, next steps. For each slide, give a title that states a benefit for the client, not a generic heading."

And for step 6:

"You are the [decision-maker's role] at [client]. Read this proposal and list the 5 questions or objections you would have before signing. For each one, indicate which slide should answer it."

This last step is often the one that makes the difference: you answer objections before they are even raised. For the emails that accompany your proposals, our article on saving time with AI gives more practical uses.

Example: the complete request in PowerPoint

Once the structure is approved, open your usual PowerPoint template, then give a complete request to Claude for PowerPoint (or Copilot):

"Based on the approved structure below, create the proposal in this template, using its layouts and colors. One idea per slide, 30 words maximum per slide excluding titles. Turn the method into a 4-step diagram and the timeline into a chronological timeline. On the 'Investment' slide, present the two options side by side, highlighting the recommended option. Structure: [paste the structure]."

You get a complete first draft that matches your template, which you then refine slide by slide ("simplify slide 4", "add a chart comparing the two options"). If you present the proposal in a meeting, also ask for speaker notes: three key points per slide, to keep your delivery smooth without reading your slides. And keep a short 3-slide version for busy decision-makers, which AI can produce in a single request from the long version.

AI for infographics: the best tools

An infographic sums up in one visual what would take a page of text: your step-by-step method, a before-and-after comparison, a timeline, key figures. There are three families of tools:

  • Napkin AI turns text into editable diagrams, charts and infographics. At the time of writing (September 2026), the free version provides 500 AI credits per week and PNG and PDF export; the Plus (about $9 per month) and Pro (about $22 per month) plans add PowerPoint and SVG export, among other features.
  • Image generators: Nano Banana Pro (in Gemini) and ChatGPT Images produce complete infographics, text included, from a description. Nano Banana Pro is particularly good with long text and diagrams. Our Nano Banana tutorial explains how to use it.
  • NotebookLM, Google's tool, creates infographics and presentations from your own documents. Free access to these features has varied over time: check what is available on your account.

The best tool depends on the result you need. For an editable infographic to use in PowerPoint, Napkin or Claude for PowerPoint. For a standalone visual to share on LinkedIn or in a proposal, Nano Banana Pro or ChatGPT Images.

Free AI infographic: a request to copy

"Create a vertical 4:5 infographic presenting my coaching method in 4 steps: 1. 'Assessment' (1 week), 2. 'Action plan' (2 weeks), 3. 'Implementation' (1 month), 4. 'Follow-up' (3 months). Clean style, white background, main color [color code], simple icons for each step, title at the top: 'Our 4-step method'. Text in English, perfectly readable."

Then check every word. If the text contains an error, ask for the precise correction ("replace 'Asessment' with 'Assessment'") rather than regenerating everything.

Mistakes to avoid

Letting AI invent figures. An infographic with an unsourced percentage can ruin your credibility. Provide your own figures and check that they appear exactly as given.

Accepting a generic presentation. Titles like "Our solution" or "Our services" sell nothing. Insist on titles that state a benefit for the client.

Forgetting your brand guidelines. A presentation that does not look like your other documents weakens your image. Load your template before generating, or define your colors and fonts once and for all.

Sending confidential data without thinking. A client's financial information, contracts, personal data: check the privacy settings of your tools. Our article on GDPR and AI gives you the key points.

Overloading slides. AI tends to write everything. One idea per slide, with details spoken aloud or in an appendix.
